Trading
- Q: Is this a prediction market? A: KangarooDeFi is a sentiment market. Prices measure crowd demand pressure, not calibrated event probabilities. Markets close by archiving final sentiment, not by declaring a winner.
- Q: Do I need KUSD before I can trade? A: Yes. Deposit USDT to get KUSD first. It's a 1:1 exchange with no fee or slippage.
- Q: Is there a buy fee? A: Creator, protocol, and platform buy fees are 0%. The AMM itself retains a 0.3% pool fee, which remains inside the answer pool and can be settled to holders who stay until close.
- Q: What happens if the market ends while I still hold tokens? A: After the market closes, switch to the Closed tab in your portfolio and click Redeem. Your tokens are converted to your pro-rata share of that answer pool's backed KUSD.
- Q: Can a single large trade move the market a lot? A: The protocol caps price impact at 25% per trade. No single trade can displace sentiment by more than 25% at the pool level.
- Q: Why did my sell execute partially? A: KSwap only pays out backed KUSD — real funds that entered that answer pool from user buys. If the pool's backed balance is low relative to your sell size, partial execution kicks in. You keep the unsold tokens.
KUSD
- Q: Is KUSD a stablecoin I can use elsewhere? A: KUSD is purpose-built for the KangarooDeFi protocol. It is 1:1 backed by USDT and always redeemable, but it is not listed on external DEXs.
- Q: What is virtual KUSD? A: Virtual KUSD is minted by the protocol only to seed AMM pairs at market creation. It is not issued to users and is burned when markets close. It cannot be withdrawn.
- Q: Is my KUSD safe if a market fails? A: Backed KUSD is always redeemable for USDT. Virtual KUSD never enters user wallets. If a market is cancelled, you can recover your KUSD through the cancel-redeem path.
Creators
- Q: How much can I charge as a creator fee? A: 0–50 basis points (0–0.5%) on sell volume.
- Q: Can I edit my market after creation? A: No. Question text, answers, and schedule are immutable once the market is created on-chain.
- Q: Can I create recurring markets? A: Yes. Use the Series flow. Create a series with a template question and interval, then call createNextRound before each new round starts.
- Q: What if nobody trades my market? A: Low-participation markets can be cancelled to recover any locked resources. Consider shorter durations, stronger question framing, and direct distribution to a warm audience.
Technical
- Q: What chain is KangarooDeFi on? A: BNB Chain (BSC). Mainnet and testnet deployments available.
- Q: Are smart contracts audited? A: See the docs/WhitePaper.md and audit section for security analysis. The contracts include formal security properties and simulation-tested risk parameters.
- Q: Is there an API? A: Yes. REST API at api2.kangaroodefi.com — see the developer docs for endpoint details.
- Q: Can I close someone else's market? A: Yes. closeMarket is permissionless. Any wallet can call it after the end time. You earn a Keeper Badge (ID 4) as a reward.
