Step 1 — Connect Your Wallet
KangarooDeFi runs on BNB Chain (BSC). Use MetaMask, Trust Wallet, or any WalletConnect-compatible wallet. Click "Connect Wallet" in the top-right header, select your wallet provider, and approve the BNB Chain network.
Add BNB Chain if prompted. Chain ID: 56 (mainnet) or 97 (testnet). The app detects which deployment you are connecting to.
Step 2 — Get KUSD
KUSD is the protocol's trading currency. It is minted 1:1 from USDT — no slippage, no fees, same decimals (6). Go to the deposit panel, approve USDT to the KangarooUSD contract, and call deposit. Your KUSD balance updates immediately.
- KUSD is pegged 1:1 to USDT.
- Depositing 10 USDT gives you exactly 10 KUSD.
- Withdrawing 10 KUSD gives you exactly 10 USDT (from real backed reserves).
- Virtual KUSD used by the protocol for AMM seeding is separate and never issued to users.
Step 3 — Choose a Market and Trade
Browse the active market feed. Open a market, read the question and answer options, and look at the sentiment percentages. Pick an answer, enter a KUSD amount, and confirm the transaction.
Your KUSD is routed through KangarooMarketRouter → the AMM pair for that answer. You receive answer tokens proportional to the swap output. The price moves based on the constant-product formula x · y = k.
Every trade moves the price. The protocol enforces a maximum price impact of 25% per trade (maxBuyPriceImpactBps = 2500). Very large trades near the limit may be rejected — split them if needed.
Step 4 — Exit or Redeem
While the market is open you can sell your answer tokens back to KUSD through KSwap (the controlled sell route). After the market closes, you redeem your tokens for your pro-rata share of that answer pool's remaining real KUSD.
- Live sell: call sellAnswerForKUSD on KSwap. Partial execution is available if backed liquidity is tight.
- Post-close redemption: call redeemClosedPosition on the router after market status is Closed.
- Cancelled markets: full refund of your KUSD is available via cancelRedeem.
