Rewards, Points, and Badges

KangarooDeFi rewards meaningful on-chain participation through a points system, a leaderboard, and non-transferable soulbound badges. Points accumulate from trading, creating markets, and depositing KUSD.

No external data feed. Markets close on a schedule and archive final sentiment — no oracle dependency, ever.

Dual Liquidity

Virtual KUSD seeds equal initial depth. Backed KUSD from real deposits defines actual exit capacity. The two are always tracked separately.

Hardened Risk Controls

25% max price impact, 50% virtual-seed buy cap, and optional trade cooldowns bound single-actor displacement on-chain.

Points System

Points are calculated off-chain by the indexer and served from /api/v2/leaderboard and /api/v2/user-summary. The breakdown includes five score components:

  • tradingScore — earned from volume traded across all markets.
  • creatorScore — earned from creating markets and generating trade volume as a creator.
  • liquidityScore — rewarded for providing depth to markets through virtual liquidity contributions.
  • depositScore — rewarded for KUSD deposits (backing real liquidity).
  • badgeScore — bonus points for holding soulbound badges.
Early Adopter

Users who participated during the earliest period of the protocol receive an isEarlyAdopter flag and may receive additional allocation in future distributions.

Soulbound Badges

Badges are deployed as KangarooBadge, a non-transferable ERC-1155 contract. Any attempt to transfer a badge reverts with KANGAROO: SOULBOUND. Three badge types exist:

  • Creator Badge (ID 1) — minted when you successfully create a market.
  • Trader Badge (ID 2) — minted when you make your first trade.
  • Keeper Badge (ID 4) — minted when you call closeMarket on an ended market.

Badges are cumulative — each qualifying action mints an additional badge. They are visible on your profile page and factor into your badgeScore.

Leaderboard

The leaderboard at /leaderboard ranks all participants by totalScore. Your rank, score breakdown, and trading stats (tradeCount, marketsTraded, lifetimeVolume) are all visible. The leaderboard refreshes every 30 seconds in the app.
